Here is a set of first hand accounts by Gaza women, documenting in agonizing detail their struggle to survive during occupation and war.
These statements are from the spring of 2025. They demostrate the spirit and resilience that is a part of Palestinian culture, known as Sumud.
Nawal Halawa, a refugee from the turmoil of the Middle East, now makes her home in Montreal. Her husband is also a Palestinian refugee.
Mrs. Halawa is the founder and president of the Arab Cultural House. She is in constant close contact with writers, editors, and translators based in the troubled lands of the Middle East.
